Drone Training London
Although our courses are run online, we still get together for the all important Flight Skills Test or for a day of Flight Skills Training at one of our drone training facilities in London.
This London based drone training course takes place every evening during the course period for a couple of hours each night until the content has been covered. You will meet virtually with your groundschool instructor and learn from the comfort of your home. Once you have completed the groundschool theory and passed the theory test we will spend a few days working through the Operations Manual construction before inviting you to your nearest flight examination centre to complete the final stage, the Flight Skills Test (FST). When you book you will be asked to select your nearest location so that your local instructor can be allocated to you.
This process allows us to complete your training safely and social distancing is observed at every stage.
Having been on other drone training courses, there is a huge difference in the level of
expertise, experience, and professionalism that is brought together in an engaging and
confidence inspiring environment. Flyby provides a comprehensive curriculum which covers
all you need to start flying in a professional and safe fashion.
Our flight skills training days make maximum use of available light, so run from 8.30 am until twilight. We provide lunch and refreshments.
Your Flight Skills Test (FST) takes place in open countryside, so you may have to travel to your nearest examiner. We aim to have an instructor and location within reasonable distance to you, but Instructors of our experience are few and far between so you travel may need to travel up to 90 minutes to them, it’s only for one day and a nice day out!
One to ones at a location to suit you are available at an extra cost.
You can meet your local instructor below, but our team are busy people so they do sometimes cover courses for each other, so this may not be the instructor for your course. Rest assured all our instructors are of an excellent calibre and you can read all about them on our home page.

Meet the Flyby Instructors
Andy Holland
Head of Safety
Andy has amassed a huge amount of experience in his aviation career. He joined the RAF after school and was selected to fly the Tornado GR1 based in Germany. A 4 year spell followed as an Instructor at RAF Valley flying the Hawk T1, where Andy was a Qualified Tactics, Flying and Weapons Instructor as well as a Central Flying School Accredited Examiner.
Andy then returned to the front-line on the Tornado GR4 and, to compliment his instructional duties, became an Instrument Rating Examiner and Air Test Pilot. With an inevitable ground tour looming, Andy moved to the Ministry of Defence in Whitehall where he worked in the Directorate for Targeting and Information Operations.
Andy retired from the RAF in 2008 and started working as a commercial pilot. After 5 years flying the Airbus A320, he moved on to fly the Airbus A380, which is his current role.
In his spare time, Andy is a volunteer pilot for the RAF Reserves and flies Air Cadets on air experience flights in a Grob Tutor.
Meet the Flyby Instructors
Kevin Dennington IRE/CRE/CPL FE
Instructor
Having always been interested in Aviation, Kevin made a career change and became a Commercial Pilot in 1992. During his time as an aviator he has specialised in the training of Professional Pilots both Civil and Military.
Kevin became a Senior Flight Instructor and Flight Safety Officer for the world renowned Oxford Aviation Academy, amassing approximately 10,000 hours of instruction in both aircraft and simulators.
He now works independently providing examining services to the UK CAA and contract flight instruction to various Approved Training Organisations and individuals operating under the EASA umbrella.
Any spare time is spent walking dogs, gardening and because it is a way of life, flying unusual and historic aircraft.
